Katanzama

Located not far from Tunkeka and close to the coastal road, you will discover Katanzama, a relatively new settlement of the Arhuaco people. Similar to the Kogis, the Arhuaco inhabit the same regions of the Sierra Nevada. I had a brief visit in march 2024 to this village that lasted only a few hours. Access is convenient and located near the primary coastal road. My wife accompanied me, and we enjoyed our time there. As is common in these communities, it is advisable not to walk alone, so we were accompanied by one of the indigenous Arhuaco women during our visit.
