British journal of photography 2026. British Journal of Photography, in partnership with WePresent and Galerie Huit Arles, are delighted to present the winners of OpenWalls Spotlight 2026. Since 2019, winners have been exhibited at Galerie Huit Arles, a 17th-century mansion in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Arles and a member of the Gallery Climate Coalition. This year's theme, 'Homecoming', brings together 26 artists exploring what it means to return.

The exhibition took place at 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐇𝐮𝐢𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐬, opening on July 6th, with a private reception for artists, partners, and industry leaders on July 9th.British Journal of Photography, with WePresent and Galerie Huit Arles, are thrilled to reveal the winners of OpenWalls Spotlight 2026.

This year’s theme is ‘Homecoming’, exploring what it means to return to a place, a person, a memory, or a version of oneself, inviting work that examines how people, societies and ecosystems find their way back to themselves.

Nancy Floyd has been named series winner for Weathering Time, a 40+ year long project, an almanac of self-portraiture tracing how vast forces surface in the everyday - the environment and ecology, American individualism, mortality and grief.

In the single image category, the 25 selected photographers explore the theme across emotional and political landscapes. Among them, Greg Holland's documentary image of a young Palestinian shepherd bringing his sheep home carries a quiet spiritual weight. Ievgen Stepanets presents a solitary playground in Georgia, exploring how safety and belonging begin to form in the aftermath of conflict.

The winning works were exhibited at Galerie Huit Arles from 06 July 2026.
